RSS FeedI am writing this from the perspective of an Englishman who grew up in the eighties, with Mario and Zelda, and do not profess to be an expert in the field. What I am is a fan that uses a lot of money and a lot of hours with a lot of games consoles, so I hope to make their goals, and may represent a vision from the perspective of the sheep to give skinned.
Everyone has heard of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. This is the current generation of game consolesfight for supremacy of the market outside of video games. Are products of the industry heavyweights like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, respectively. First, let's quickly look at all the consoles.
Nintendo Wii came out at roughly the same time as the PS3 (so common in 2nd place for Xbox 360). E 'inexpensive to manufacture, buy cheap and seems to be the largest earner of all 3 consoles. All the time we see signs in shops saying that the Wii is available, even if it is released2 years ago. Nintendo's key strategy is to have fun and games for the largest public to attract (so we have to appeal to female gamers e), and large graphics power struggle. Its killer app is the movement, and gives him an advantage on all sublime innovative in the entertainment industry.
Sony Playstation 3 is the newest console to the phenomenal success of its PlayStation and PS2. This is the biggest, sleekest and (apparently) the most powerfulconsole out there. And 'all power over graphics, Blu-ray and HD.
Xbox 360 is Microsoft's second attempt at the gaming market. From what I read, is the first Xbox was designed by Microsoft to be truly the gateway to the market, so they were willing to pay so much money just need to get a foothold. Their real weapon was always the Xbox 360 Well, that certainly seems like most of the selection conventional (and boring obvious)objectives: the first on the market is very strong, the most played.
So how can we define the parameters that victory? If it's money, so the Wii is the most profitable. But it would be very short-sighted view. The basic understanding of Sony and Microsoft are putting a unit in our living rooms, is a gateway for other future streams of income. This course will be of multimedia content, download movies, social networks, e-shopping, etc. ..
PS3 can play movies and moviespurports to be the most powerful, but now I'm here a little 'and the game does not seem to look better than on Xbox 360, no. The cost is £ 300 to £ 130 for the cheapest Xbox 360, which is a huge difference. It has all that many games, and I'm kinda bored with the same controls on the original Playstation. Xbox 360 has been at least a year before the others released. As agreat advantage, but they cut corners and had to pay billions in cash to replace faulty hardware ( "3 rings of death"). It 'a nice car, and can not be anything special.
But we can talk about games here. These are slot machines, and this is the game. Nintendo has once again to make fun of us has no end, and then delivered very little, but a string of small size. PS3 spaceship had landed, and then try to win with a fleet of underwhelming 3rd Party titles,A second wave of games coming from over his main opponent. Xbox 360 is prone to break down on you, she is ugly as sin, and is made up of several companies staunchingly cool, but damn, it's cheap and there are so many good games on it. I was surprised that the graphics of the PS3 games do not seem significantly better than the Xbox 360, and although this may change over time as developers learn to master the machine, so Microsoft has released a new console anyway.

Perhaps no killer application, may be the best, but I think that Xbox 360 has won this battle. Nintendo may decide to carry out effectively enough to try a huge potential of the Wii to play, even if all the experiences of the past that will not happen (it seems that also depend on Shigeru Miyamoto,and there is only 1 of him). Sony seems to have been occupied, or the dark side, along the road or something. I do not want to waste time thinking about a way to win, but you better hurry, because in a few years it will be time for a new generation to express whether they like it or not.
